Willy Brandt Centre for German and European Studies (CSNE) at Wrocław University and the Centre interdisciplinaire d'études et de recherches sur l'Allemagne, CIERA (Paris) and Ludwig Maiximilian University (Munich) jointly organize the international summer school "THE WEIMAR TRIANGLE IN EUROPE", taking place from 22nd to 29th June, 2014.

The motto of this year's summer school is "Europa 10 Jahre nach der EU-Osterweiterung. Zusammenwachsen Europas und Auseinandergehen der Europäer?" („Europe 10 years after the EU eastern enlargement: Europe growing together, Europeans growing apart?")

Number of participants: 30 students and doctoral candidates

The summer school places emphasis on three thematic fields:

Europe 2014 – tendencies of integration and renationalization
National and European discourses in the past and present
"Europeans" in a transformation period

In the context of initial presentations and panels, participants will be able to acquaint themselves with various aspects of Polish-German-French and European relations.

Applications

Doctoral candidates and students in their final years of studies who are fluent in German and interested in Polish-German-French and in general European relations can submit their application until 15th March, 2014.

The letter of motivation should contain a short explanation for the selection of the topic. The scientific council of the summer school will take care of participant selection based on the written applications.

Costs

The summer school is financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds from the Ministry of Foreign affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany. These funds include accommodation and implementation of the summer school. No participation fee is charged.

Expenses for travel by train (second class) or aircraft (economy class) will be reimbursed based on the prescriptions for travel expenses reimbursement for federal officials, provided the use of low-cost fares and presentation of original receipts / bills directly to the summer school.
