Guidelines for Library Usage

 

The library of the Willy Brand Center is a specialized academic library, which primarily collects academic literature on Germany, the European Union and the relations between Poland and Germany. Particularly following disciplines are represented: History, Political Science, Social Sciences, History of literature and culture, Philosophy, Psychology, religious studies as well as legal and economic sciences. Another main focus is put on scientific legacies.

 

  • The library of the WBC is a reference library.
  • The reading room is video-monitored and the holdings are theft-protected.
  • In the reading room, the reference library as well as the publications of the WBC and its research assistants are available and fully accessible for visitors.
  • The ordering of other media takes places conventionally via order forms
  • The full holdings are researchable in the web-catalog, which is accessible through the website of the WBC
  • Important notice! Only books that hold a shelf mark are available.

The shelf mark can be found by clicking on the relevant catalog entry:

either in the line: opis fizyczny

or in the line: egzemplarze (in the table).

  • The holdings can be duplicated:

independently (with own camera)

at the copying desk with the doormen (only with prior consent of the librarian).

  • The computers in the reading room allow users free access to electronic journal holdings and the databases provided by the university library (BUWr).
